Packs

The line that separates packs from bags, backpacks, and pouches is so thin it’s sometimes hard to tell the difference. Definitions don’t help at all, and gathering everything in a single category sounds like stuffing your closet with loads of things only to see them descend like an avalanche once you open it another time. For the sake of convenience, we’ll define packs as any storage bundle that is neither worn on your back, nor carried in your hands. With formalities out of the way, let’s focus on what you can find on this page. We have a whole array of hiking packs that can be smaller and more compact alternatives to backpacks. There are also several containers you can call cases that are used for storing all sorts of things. They can be used as durable camera hard cases, or containers for storing gadgets like phones, hard drives, memory cards, and other technical trinkets. If you are more interested in what the hiking pack group has to offer, here are some examples.

Waist Packs

A waist pack doesn’t have the capacity of a backpack, but it is endowed with benefits it distant relative lacks. Waist packs provide incomparably quicker access to the things you need, they don’t bounce as much and generally take up less space. Fishing enthusiasts will benefit greatly from preferring them over more cumbersome containers. It’s not like you need to choose between a backpack and a waist pack, though. The two go together as well as peanut butter and jelly. Umpqua produces waist pucks known for their durability and ergonomic design.

Chest Packs

You can easily confuse a chest pack with a compact backpack that was put on the other way around. They provide the same benefit waist packs do. You don’t need to take off your container in order to retrieve something: everything you need is right there on hand. That is another item waders and fishermen can make use of. You can also use a chest pack for hiking to balance out the weight of your backpack to make the hike easier.

Sling Packs

Sling packs are similar to backpacks with the primary difference being the number of straps. A sling pack sling onto your shoulder or back with one strap. It offers an alternative way to distribute weight and is preferred over backpacks by some outdoor enthusiasts. 5.11 Tactical produces exemplary sling packs and we also have sling packs manufactured by other decent brands.

Here, on Gritr Outdoors, you can find a wide range of packs for hiking and fishing. We also have the renowned storage cases produced by B&W International. Whichever form of storing you prefer, we have containers that will live up to your expectations.
